Women in science
Since 2007, the Jeunes Talents France L’Oréal-UNESCO ‘For Women in Science’ programme has been highlighting and supporting talented young women researchers through a prize and a training programme in leadership, communication and negotiation.
Worth between €15,000 and €20,000, this Young Talent prize will enable Mélissa to continue her research and develop her scientific project.
A well-deserved recognition
The awards ceremony was held at the Institut de France in Paris on Wednesday 9 October 2024. Mélissa joins the 405 young women scientists already honoured by this highly selective programme since its lauch. And this year, 35 of the 700 candidates were selected, including 20 doctoral candidates and 15 post-doctoral candidates, including Mélissa Macalli.
Through this recognition, Mélissa is helping to strengthen the place of women in the world of research, overcome gender inequalities, break the « glass ceiling » and contribute to scientific progress by inspiring the next generation of women researchers at the BPH and elsewhere.
In 2019, another doctoral student in biostatistics at the BPH, Maude Wagner, also received this prestigious Prix Jeunes Talents France from the L’Oréal Foundation
