QUALITY AND INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT

A quality and integrity (Q&I) management approach has been integrated into the BPH in 2018 to promote scientific integrity in research. It is organised around a Q&I cell, made up of team managers, researchers and cross-functional staff.

The main objectives are to

  • Raise awareness of research integrity
  • Promote integrity in research activities
  • Organise training for staff and other experts
  • Provide resources and tools to help researchers in their activities

Initiatives:

Several training sessions have been held since 2021, covering topics such as bibliography, document and database organisation, regulatory aspects and open science, with a high level of satisfaction among participants.
Useful resources for researchers, such as guides and research protocols, have been produced and made available to staff.

TRANSITIONS

Ensuring that research contributes to the environmental and social transition

Taking action and getting involved at our own level is the aim of the Public Health Transitions Committee, set up by the BPH and the public health community of Bordeaux. The aim is to help inform the public health community so that it can take action to reduce the environmental impact of public health research and teaching activities and work towards a plural and inclusive society.

The objectives are to:

  • Quantify (without stigmatising) our impact in terms of our carbon footprint and reduce our CO2 emissions by -…% by 2030
  • Inform our community about solutions and support them in changing practices that have a negative impact on the environment and society in order to massively and measurably reduce them.

EQUITÉ, DIVERSITÉ ET INCLUSION

BPH rejects all forms of discrimination and harassment and is actively committed to maintaining a supportive environment and ensuring equal treatment and opportunities for all.

The Centre has adopted an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Charter and Action Plan based on values of equality, transparency and mutual respect. It addresses key issues such as preventing discrimination, harassment and bias, while promoting inclusive communication and work-life balance.

Consult the EDI Charter

The BPH is committed to setting up an EDI unit whose objectives are to implement actions and to measure and continually improve practices through rigorous monitoring.
