Organised every year since 1970 by the French Statistical Society (Société Française de Statistique SFDS), “Journées de la Statistique” is a major event for French-speaking statisticians and beyond. This annual conference brings together professionals, researchers and students to discuss the latest advances and applications in statistics

In 2024, the Bordeaux edition of Journées de la Statistique was co-organised by Bordeaux Population Health (SISTM and BIOSTAT teams), the Bordeaux Mathematics Institute, and the Department of Science and Techniques of Physical and Sports Activities (STAPS).

Over five days, from 27 to 31 May, around 550 people met at the Campus de la Victoire in Bordeaux.
The programme, which was varied and dense, included conferences and workshops.

To encourage interdisciplinary exchanges, statistics were approached from different angles and associated with various fields such as the environment, sport, medicine, artificial intelligence and industry.

Recognised as a key event in its sector, the next Journées de la Statistique will be taking place in Marseilles from 2 to 6 June 2025.
