Cécile Proust-Lima becomes co-editor of Biometrics

Biometrics is one of the leading journals in Biostatistics
Since 1945, Biometrics has been publishing methodological developments motivated by applications in the life sciences. Through its various sections, it highlights the role of statistics in the world of biology, with a view to helping it to develop.
Cécile Proust-Lima was named co-editor by IBS on 1 January 2025.
She joins the team of 3 co-editors with Erica Moodie (Canada), Matthew Schoffield (Australia), and executive editor Geert Molenberghs (Belgium).
This is the second time that a researcher from the Bordeaux research centre has been appointed to this post.
Daniel Commenges was editor from 2000 to 2003.
Cécile Proust-Lima is Director of Research in Biostatistics at the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm).
She works in the BIOSTAT team, which she co-directs.
With the objective of developing public health research, her group is developing statistical methods to describe, explain and predict the progression of chronic diseases based on longitudinal data collected in large epidemiological cohorts.
Her work is motivated by various pathologies, such as Alzheimer’s disease, multisystem atrophy and cancer.
