Retour

Inserm offers a podcast called ‘Les Volontaires’, a platform that highlights the testimonies of citizens involved in medical research. The new episode ‘Chez Christian et Renée, Alzheimer’s is not invited’ focuses on the participants in the B cube cohort and the members of the BPH-ELEANOR team involved in this project.

The B cube cohort (Biobank and brain health in Bordeaux) is an innovative research project launched in 2022 by Cécilia Samieri as part of the BPH- ELEANOR team in collaboration with Catherine Helmer and Morgane Linard from the BPH LEHA team.

This innovative study aims to recruit 2,000 people aged 55 to 80 living in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, in order to obtain a better understanding of the factors influencing brain ageing.

The aim of this project is to study the exposome of brain ageing in its early stages, paying particular attention to nutrition and lifestyle.

This research project is distinguished by its multidisciplinary approach, involving epidemiologists, neuroscientists, biologists and brain imaging specialists. It aims to provide a more in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of cerebral ageing and to develop prevention strategies to reduce the burden of neurodegenerative diseases on society, particularly Alzheimer’s disease, which currently affects 900,000 people in France.,
